Althauser Rayan Abbarno partner receives Volunteer of the Year Award from Sound Legal Aid

Althauser Rayan Abbarno, LLP, on Thursday announced that partner Kathryn Eyraud has been named Volunteer of the Year by Sound Legal Aid in recognition of her outstanding commitment to expanding access to justice for underserved individuals and families throughout Southwest Washington.

The Volunteer of the Year Award honors attorneys who dedicate their time, expertise and compassion to helping individuals who might otherwise be unable to obtain legal assistance, according to a news release from the Centralia-based law firm.

Eyraud has been an active volunteer supporting Sound Legal Aid's mission of ensuring that all people, regardless of income, have access to quality legal assistance, the release stated. Her work has helped individuals and families address significant legal challenges and move toward greater stability and security, according to Althauser Rayan Abbarno.

“Access to justice is one of the foundational principles of our legal system and Althauser Rayan Abbarno,” said Eyraud, attorney and partner with Althauser Rayan Abbarno. “I am honored to receive this award from Sound Legal Aid and grateful for the opportunity to work alongside so many dedicated advocates who are making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.”

Sound Legal Aid is a nonprofit organization based in Olympia that provides free civil legal services to low-income residents in Thurston, Mason, Lewis, Grays Harbor and Pacific counties.



“Through legal clinics, advice hotlines, educational resources and direct legal representation, the organization helps individuals and families navigate critical legal issues involving housing, family law, domestic violence, consumer protection and other civil matters,” Althauser Rayan Abbarno stated in the release. “As a partner at Althauser Rayan Abbarno, Eyraud assists clients in a variety of family law matters while maintaining a strong commitment to community service. Her recognition highlights the important role attorneys play in supporting equal access to justice and strengthening the communities they serve.”
