The Adna girls basketball team bounced back from a district semifinal loss with a convincing 70-42 win over Forks, one that puts them in the 2B District 4 third-place game and ensures them a spot in the state tournament.

The Pirates (22-2) played well in the first half, first taking a five-point lead after one and extending it to 11 by the break. They really pulled away in the third, however, scoring 25 points to run away with it.

“Our energy in the third quarter was much better,” Adna coach Chris Bannish said.

Gaby Guard had already hit three 3-pointers in the first half, but she really got going in the third. She scored 17 of Adna’s 25 points, including two more threes, en route to finishing with a team-high 26.

Danika Hallom and Karsyn Freeman added 13 points each, combining for five more 3-pointers.

The Pirates will face Toutle Lake in the District 4 third-place game at 1:30 at W.F. West on Saturday.
