Proposition No. 1: Replacement Educational Programs & Operations Levy

YES: 66.15%; 686 votes

NO: 33.85%; 351 votes

The Adna School District is close to passing a replacement educational programs and operations levy, as of Tuesday evening.

If passed, the measure “would authorize the district to replace an expiring levy by levying the following excess taxes upon all taxable property within the district, to fund educational programs and operations, including: course/program options; class size reduction; classroom technology; STEM education; facilities maintenance; extracurricular activities, including athletics and robotics; and a school nurse,” according to the measure’s text.

The district estimates a tax rate of $1.50 per $1,000 of assessed value for each year in 2027, 2028, 2029 and 2030.

“A property tax exemption may be available to certain homeowners, including those who are 61 years or older or disabled, and who meet low-income requirements,” according to an explanatory statement about the measure.
