The Pirates tested themselves this weekend in trying to get back to the Class 1B/2B state tournament with matches against Mount Vernon Christian and Highland.
They ended up on the wrong side of the scoreboard both times, 4-0 versus MVC on Friday and 7-2 against Highland on Saturday. Both of their opponents were amongst the 16 state tournament teams a year ago.
“Still trying to dial things in to click with each other,” Adna head coach Patrick Richardson said. “We need to be more proactive. We have improved our style of play each half of each game this week.”
MVC outshot Adna 21-12 on Friday and scored two times per half. Versus Highland, the Pirates were down 4-0 within the first 35 minutes before Charlotte Deguise found the back of the net in the 37th minute.
Haley Roundtree tallied a goal in the 67th minute with Alyson Terry registering both assists. Adna takes on two more non-league opponents with Goldendale on Tuesday and Bethel on Wednesday.
