Additional charges filed stemming from December prison riots at Green Hill School

Charges stemming from two separate fights that took place at Green Hill School in Chehalis in December were filed in Lewis County Superior Court on Friday, Feb. 16.

Three Green Hill inmates, identified in court documents as Emilio Vazquez, 18, Emiliano Charre-Nunez, 20, and Adnel Kenjar, 23, are accused of taking part in a fight inside the facility on Dec. 3, according to court documents. As staff were breaking up the fight, Kenjar allegedly “threw a punch and hit another inmate as well as a staff member,” according to court documents.

The three inmates each face one count of prison riot for their alleged involvement in the fight.

Kenjar faces an additional count of custodial assault for allegedly striking the Green Hill staff member.

Kenjar is additionally accused of having suspected marijuana and suspected THC in the pocket of his coat on Dec. 11. He was charged Feb. 16 with one count of possession of a controlled substance while in a state correctional facility.

The three inmates had preliminary hearings in Lewis County Superior Court on Wednesday, Feb. 21. Arraignment hearings are scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 28.



Two additional inmates, identified as Angel Lara-Sedano, 18, and Gilberto Sanchez-Medino, 18, are accused of entering another inmate’s room and “assaulting that inmate” on Dec. 10.

They were each charged with one count of prison riot on Feb. 16. The charge is a class B felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Lara-Sedano had a preliminary hearing in Lewis County Superior Court on Feb. 21. His arraignment hearing is scheduled for Feb. 28.

Sanchez-Medino’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 1.

According to previous reporting by The Chronicle, Green Hill School saw at least 12 riots in 2023 that have since been charged in Lewis County Superior Court.
