Four Green Hill School inmates accused of attacking another inmate inside the Chehalis facility on Jan. 4 are now facing prison riot and assault charges in Lewis County Superior Court.

Two of the inmates, identified in court documents as Henri Garcia-Cruz, 19, and Issac Almeida-Chittim, 18, are accused of “throwing punches” at another inmate, while two others, Marius Velazquez, 18, and Jaime Lopez-Merino, 20, were also charged for allegedly being involved in the fight.

A report from Green Hill staff described the attacked inmate “as being ‘drenched in sweat, blood and milk with very visible black eyes, busted lip and small lacerations on his face,” according to court documents.

The four inmates each face one count of prison riot, which is a class B felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Almeida-Chittim and Garcia-Cruz also each face one count of second-degree assault, which is a class B felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Almeida-Chittim, Garcia-Cruz and Valazquez had their preliminary hearings in Lewis County Superior Court on Feb. 23. Arraignment hearings are scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 29.

Lopez-Merino’s preliminary hearing had not been scheduled as of Feb. 23.

Also appearing in Lewis County Superior Court for a preliminary hearing on Feb. 23 was Moses H. Mutel, 20, who is accused of assaulting a Green Hill staff member on Dec. 22.

The staff member reported Mutel “indicated he needed to use the bathroom” and, after the staff member opened the door, she “was shoved by the defendant as he approached the control booth,” according to court documents.

She reported she was “shoved again” when she “attempted to stop the defendant.” She also reported Mutel “shoved items off the counter that struck another staff member” when he did make it to the control booth.

Mutel was charged Feb. 16 with one count of custodial assault.

Arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 29.
