The Oakville boys basketball team had no issues with North Beach on Thursday, as the Acorns defeated the Hyaks 54-32 at home.
The Acorns took a 13-point lead after one, but the offense couldn’t build on the lead much in the second. The defense helped maintain the lead, though, and they were able to extend the lead slowly as the second half went on.
Freshman Jordan Eichelberger led Oakville with 19 points, while Daniel Rodas scored 16 and Gio Rodas added 12.
The Acorns (2-0) will look to make it three in a row in their league opener on Tuesday at the Washington School for the Deaf in Vancouver.
