Abbey (Joyce) and Phil Manning celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary this year. The couple was married March 29, 2014, at St. Peter’s Church in Higham on the Hill, Leicestershire, United Kingdom. Abbey is the daughter of Rick and Sue Joyce, of Nuneaton, UK (formerly of Centralia), and Phil is the son of Kevin and Lindsay Manning, of Southampton, UK.

For the wedding, the bride wore a stunning princess silhouette dress with an intricate beaded-bodice design reminiscent of leaves and flowers and carried a forest-themed bouquet with ferns, English ivy, acorns and colorful spring buds. The groom wore a sophisticated charcoal suit and a bespoke floral bow tie sewn by the bride’s mother.

Family and friends of the bride and groom traveled from Canada, the United States, Italy and all around the UK for the event. Among these, many have called Centralia home: the bride’s siblings, Anna Dallum, Kaeli Joyce and Alex Joyce; Kathleen Campbell, maternal grandmother of the bride; Scott and Sarah Campbell, with their daughter and son, Lauren and Cray; Laurel Taubel; Jim and Jane Miller; and Victoria Kaiser.

Abbey now works as a writer, artist and craftsperson working in multiple mediums. Phil recently completed his studies at Trinity College Bristol and was ordained a deacon in the Church of England. He will soon be ordained a priest. They are passionate about creation care and love engaging the rhythms of the seasons.

The couple resides in Bristol, UK. They have lived in the same district of the city for most of their married life, and they find great joy in investing in their local community through arts initiatives, gardening projects and creative ministry.
