An 80-year-old hiker trekking with her friend fell almost 50 feet from the Bridal Veil Falls trail on Wednesday but escaped serious injury.
Deputy John Plock, a spokesperson for the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, said his office received a call about the fall around 1:30 p.m. A deputy arrived just before 2 p.m. and found the hiker conscious and breathing.
Corbett Fire crews performed a high angle rope rescue about 15 minutes later. An hour later, the hiker was taken to a hospital for a precautionary examination.
She has not been identified.
