Matt Britton, board member and general counsel of the 40 Days for Life project, will tell the story of the effort in Centralia on Monday, March 24. Britton will speak at one stop of the 40 Days for Life WA Tour, which is set for noon in the parking lot at the corner of Main and Yew Streets directly across the street from the Centralia Planned Parenthood.
40 Days for Life is an intensive campaign that focused on 40 days of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion, peaceful vigil at abortion facilities and grassroots educational outreach, according to a news release.
“People in Centralia have made extraordinary sacrifices to expose the abortion industry and to protect pre-born children and their mothers from abortion,” Britton said in a news release. “I’m honored to be able to join these folks in prayer. Their efforts illustrate why we’re seeing historic changes — more mothers choosing life, more abortion workers experiencing conversions and leaving the abortion industry, and more abortion centers closing their doors for good.”
Britton has had an expansive legal career, including four terms as an elected prosecutor and time as a county attorney, vice president and counsel to a publicly traded global technology company, major law firm litigator, and general counsel. He has written and spoken on a wide range of legal and pro-life issues in locations across the United States and around the world.
“We are tremendously pleased that Matt will be here to support our 40 Days for Life effort,” Judy Parks, spokesperson for the local 40 Days for Life campaign in Centralia, said in the release. “He’s an energetic, enthusiastic speaker and we know he will be an inspiration.”
Joining Britton will be Father Francis M. de Rosa, who has provided priestly support for 40 Days for Life for several years in the United States and around the world.
Centralia is one of 12,358 community campaigns in 64 nations around the world conducting simultaneous 40 Days for Life campaigns from March 5 through April 13. Since 40 Days for Life began, over 25,000 mothers have chosen life for their children, over 260 abortion workers have quit their jobs and over 150 abortion centers where 40 Days for Life vigils have been held have gone out of business, according to the news release.
