Three people found dead with gunshot wounds in an Olympia home Saturday morning have been identified as a husband and wife in their 70s, along with a friend of the couple.
The three were identified by Thurston County Coroner Gary Warnock as Carlos Lopez-Estrada, 70; his wife, Paula Victor-Lopez, 79; and Michelle Courts, 66.
Warnock said his office was conducting medical examinations Tuesday afternoon to determine the deceased's causes and manners of death. Warnock confirmed that all three suffered gunshot wounds.
The Olympia Police Department reported Saturday that officers responded shortly after 10:30 a.m. to a report of arguing and gunfire at a home in the 2300 block of 19th Court NW.
The incident was being investigated Saturday, but police said there was no apparent threat to the broader community.
“This is a tragic loss of life, and we are holding the families, loved ones, and all those impacted by this incident in our hearts during this difficult time,” the department wrote on social media. “We recognize incidents like this deeply affect families, neighbors, and our entire community, and we appreciate the community’s compassion, patience, and ongoing support as investigators work through the facts.”
Police are asking anyone with information to call 360-704-2740.
