TUMWATER — Centralia's Arleth Ramirez earned sixth place honors despite being defeated by Black Hills' Bailey Weatherby in a 6-2, 6-4 sub-district make-up tennis match here on Monday.
"She played really aggressively and controlled rallies until Bailey really held on to her serve," Centralia coach Deb Keahey said. "Otherwise it was a good match. We're really proud of her for stepping up in the singles spot."
The 2A District 4 Girls Tennis Tournament begins on Wednesday at the Capital City Tennis & Athletic Center in Tumwater.
