Former Sheriff Celebrates 85th Birthday

Bill Logan, Onalaska, former Lewis County sheriff, will be celebrating his 85th birthday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at the Veterans Memorial Museum, 100 SW Veterans Way, Chehalis.

Logan was born Nov. 26, 1933, in Spokane. His parents were James and Mary (Farmer) Logan.

He attended Jefferson Grade School in Centralia, graduated from eighth grade at Missionary Grade School, Taegu, Korea, in 1948 and Centralia High School in 1952.

His wife is Marilyn K. Logan.

Logan spent 32 years in law enforcement with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. He served eight years as the Lewis County sheriff, retiring on Jan. 1, 1995. Previously, Logan served nine years in the Army.



His activities have included the Murky Lurkers diving club, Centralia Rifle Club and National Rifle Association.

Logan’s children and their spouses are Laura (Fred) Ryder, Chehalis; Karla Mitchell, Chehalis; Doris (Mark) Westley, Centralia; and Elmer Logan, Fort Myers, Florida.

He has seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
