Dropping its fifth game in a row to end the season, the Tenino boys basketball team fell in the consolation bracket of the 1A District 4 tournament Tuesday night on the road to La Center, 49-45.
The Beavers led for the majority of the game, using a fierce defense to keep the Wildcats at bay until a late run in the fourth quarter spelled doom.
Tenino turned the ball over 21 times as a team, and could never really get going on offense to separate, despite some strong defensive play until the fourth. Noah Schow hauled in 12 boards, despite scoring just eight points, and Austin Gonia had 12 points, with Jack Burkhardt adding 10, but the Beavers just couldn’t get rolling offensively all night.
Easton Snider, Brody Noonan, and Keegan O’Connor played their final games for the Beavers Tuesday night as seniors.
