Birthdays: Glaspey

Violet (Smishek) Glaspey, Onalaska, celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends Friday at a dinner party held Friday at the Kit Carson Restaurant, Chehalis.

Violet, better known as “Vi,” was born in Powers Lake, North Dakota, the youngest of five children. She graduated from the North Dakota St. Joseph School of Nursing in 1940.

She married Rollo Glaspey in 1941 and later moved to the Chehalis area, where she worked at St. Helen Hospital, Chehalis, for over 35 years, retiring in 1980.
