Two Centralia Ballet Academy students, Jacob Brein and Samantha Myer, have been accepted into renowned dance programs.

Brein, of Chehalis, has been offered a full scholarship to study at the School of Oregon Ballet Theatre this summer. Former students from the school of OBT now dance in ballet companies around the world. The six-week summer program will include daily classes in ballet technique, as well as other dance forms, Pilates and topics such as dance history. Brein started dancing at Centralia Ballet Academy in 2010.

Myer, also of Chehalis, plans to pursue a career in dance medicine, providing physical therapy to dancers. She has been accepted into three different programs: Long Island University in Brooklyn, New York; Drexel University, in Philadelphia; and the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, in London.

Myer has also been accepted into a summer intensive program at the Trinity Laban. She will travel there this summer for the program and, while she is still finalizing her plans, will more than likely return there in the fall to begin a two-year program in dance science.

Trinity Laban is  considered one of Europe’s leading centers for the training of professional contemporary dance artists and is acknowledged internationally as a leader in the contemporary arts.

Leban started dancing at Centralia Ballet Academy in 2010. She is also trained in “BrainDance” and has brought her knowledge of BrainDance and creative dance to the youngest students at CBA.

Centralia Ballet Academy, founded in 2009, includes five levels of ballet, in addition to parent/toddler classes, creative dance, pointe, partnering, musical theater, jazz, modern and conditioning for ages 1 through adult.
