• Story: Woman Asks City for New Policy After Officer Kills Injured Cat

The situation could have been handled better. What is a cop doing with a hammer, anyway? I can only hope the scrutiny brought about by recent incidents between authority figures and animals will improve future confrontations. And to those who say keep your cats indoors, here’s a news flash: Sometimes indoor cats escape. If one of my cats got out and ended up caught in barbed wire with a smashed head, I’d lose it.

I want to wholeheartedly express my thanks to Justyna Tomtas for capturing Gloria’s heart and compassion for these girls! Justyna, you did an excellent job on this and we are so very grateful! Especially for having so little time and making it happen! Thank you, and Pete Caster for coming out and, both doing such a thorough and perfect piece!

Seems they forgot the sidewalk and bike paths.  Would have been great to be able to walk or bike from Fort Borst Park to Mellen Street and join up with the existing path to Home Depot area in Chehalis.

I think this is a great plan, and hope it happens where the freeways pass through towns more in future. I also run into this issue a lot at Bellingham, where the locals seem to think the freeway speed limit is 45 mph. I hope that WSDOT will keep that area in mind.

This is a good family, went to school with all of the Moon kids. They were an outstanding family and great friends. I know it has been a few hard years since your dad passes and what you are going through. You have been in my prayers since this news broke when this all started and still are. You have to do what is right to make sure this does not happen to another family. Don’t let this take all of the good memories away from you of your dad. This is just a setback. Your dad is still with you and he is still in heaven. I wish you the best in what you are doing and keep moving forward or for you and your family. May God bless and give you energy to keep going.

A corpse is a corpse, of course of course;

Unless your talking of a talking corpse.

Dead is dead, and to err is human. With all

due respect, the real “victims” here are completely oblivious to the mix-up. They don’t care.

This moron should spend the rest of his miserable life behind bars. The courts are ridiculous. Give the public a break.

My dad was the cop for the town of Pe Ell many years ago and during that time I met and got to know many officers.  Mike was a great one.  It was because of those men that my respect for the police was so strong.  I could name so many of the good ones from that time but the list would be long.  I really enjoyed all of them and I loved Mike’s smile.  He was a good man that was well respected.  Prayers to the family.  He will be missed.
