Titans bounce back with sweep of Wildcats

The Pe Ell-Willapa Valley baseball team got back in the win column on Monday, as the Titans topped Ocosta 16-1 and 13-3 in a pair of run-rule victories.

In Game 1, the Titans (13-3, 4-1 P2BL) went down 1-0 in the top of the first, but immediately took the lead with six in the bottom half and added five more in both the second and third.

He also went 1 for 3 at the plate with a pair of RBIs, as did Lucas Lusk, and Connor Keeton went 3 for 3.

Liam Smaciarz pitched all three innings, giving up three hits and an unearned run while striking out three.

Ocosta took an early lead again in Game 2, but the Titans tied it in the second and took the lead with an eight spot in the third.

Smaciarz and Max Jarvis drove in three runs each, and Brayden Ruddell went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI.

Lusk entered the game on the mound in the second, and he allowed just one run in three innings of work.

Up next for the Titans is a critical doubleheader against Ilwaco, which is currently undefeated in league play and atop the P2BL standings. PWV will head there on Wednesday.
