The Centralia baseball team completed a sweep of Black Hills on Wednesday, as the Tigers scored the final six runs of the game in an 8-4 victory.

Centralia (6-7, 3-5 2A EvCo) took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first, but the Wolves (3-8, 2-7 2A EvCo) responded with two of their own in the top of the second. Another Black Hills pair in the fourth gave the Wolves a 4-2 lead.

At the end of the top of the fourth, the Tigers were able to get an out at the plate to limit the damage, and that kickstarted an offensive surge.

The Tigers scored six runs in the final three innings, first taking the lead before tacking on in the fifth and sixth.

“We were a little lethargic early,” Centralia coach Jake LeDuc said. “I think that finally kind of got our guys motivated. That was a pretty big turning point.”

Brady Sprague, Landen Jenkins, Blake Seymour, and Hudson Waterfield all tallied RBIs for the Tigers, and Tucker Weaver allowed zero earned runs in six strong innings on the mound.

Parker Termini collected two of Black Hills’ three hits, including a double.

Centralia will host Aberdeen on Saturday at noon, while Black Hills will head to Rochester for a doubleheader on Friday.

The Wolves will be the designated home team in the first game, a league matchup that will be the resumption of a postponed game earlier in the month. Rochester is leading that game 2-0 in the middle of the third. The second game will be a non-league matchup.
