Sirens: Harassment, shoplifted shoes, intoxicated man defecating on a porch

Harassment

• At 7:35 a.m. on Jan. 29, a caller reported a “guy with a fake gun” was “harassing him last night” in the 100 block of Southwest Interstate Avenue. The dispatch operator described the caller as “rambling.”

• At 2:15 p.m. on Jan. 29, an employee at a business in the 2100 block of Southwest Woodland Circle reported “threats made by an ex-employee to come shoot her … and shoot up the building.”

Malicious mischief

• A report of third-degree malicious mischief in the 400 block of South Market Boulevard at approximately 8:20 a.m. on Jan. 29 is under investigation.

• Paint was reportedly spread through a store in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 4:20 p.m. on Jan. 29.

• A report of third-degree malicious mischief in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just before 6:15 a.m. on Jan. 30 is under investigation.

Criminal trespass

• A man who was reportedly digging through the trash at a property in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue just after 8:50 a.m. on Jan. 29 was trespassed from the property.

• A homeless man reportedly set up camp in a parking lot in the 500 block of North Market Boulevard just after 10:35 a.m. on Jan. 29.

• Subjects reportedly set up a tarp in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue at approximately 5:40 p.m. on Jan. 29. A caller asked for them to be moved along.

• A small camp was reported in a parking lot in the 10 block of Southwest Chehalis Avenue just after 7:35 a.m. on Jan. 30.

• At 9:40 a.m. on Jan. 30, a caller reported she “thinks there are people in the garage behind her home” and said she “is in a wheelchair and she can’t go check.” She reported her son lives in the garage but asked “any individuals on her property that aren’t her son” be trespassed.

Hit-and-run

• A hit-and-run was reported in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 29.

Suspicious circumstances

• At 5 p.m. on Jan. 29, a resident in the 500 block of Northwest Quincy Place reported a male subject knocked on her door “asking about her selling stuff” and “became aggressive when she said no.”

• A caller reported a “kid standing outside the gas station with (a) hockey stick” in the 600 block of North National Avenue just before 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 29.

Vehicle accidents

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in a parking lot in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 7:25 p.m. on Jan. 29. Both parties were reportedly “uncooperative.”

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 1800 block of South Market Boulevard just before 1:45 p.m. on Jan. 30.

Theft

• A shoplift was reported in the 500 block of South Market Boulevard just after 7:50 p.m. on Jan. 29.

• A subject reportedly “stole a bucket of stuff” from a business in the 1700 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue at approximately 1:50 p.m. on Jan. 30.

• A woman was cited for shoplifting in the 1600 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue just after 3:35 p.m. on Jan. 30.

• A purse was reported stolen from the 300 block of North Market Boulevard at 7:20 p.m. on Jan. 30. The victim’s cards were reportedly “being used all around Chehalis.”

Disorderly conduct

• Just after 4:25 a.m. on Jan. 31, a caller reported a homeless man was defecating on his back porch in the 500 block of Northwest Pacific Avenue. The man was transported via ambulance due to intoxication.

 

CENTRALIA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Disorderly conduct

• A 44-year-old homeless woman from Olympia who was “being threatening and disorderly” was trespassed from Lewis County Transit property at the intersection of East Sixth and B streets at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 29.

• A verbal dispute was reported at the intersection of East Main Street and South Railroad Avenue just before 1:20 a.m. on Jan. 30. Two subjects were “warned about yelling and screaming at each other in public.”

Criminal trespass

• A 40-year-old homeless man from Rochester was trespassed from a restaurant in the 800 block of Harrison Avenue just after 1 p.m. on Jan. 29 for “refusing to come out of the bathroom.”

• A motorhome was reportedly left in a private parking lot in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just before 10 a.m. on Jan. 30. Officers are looking for the motorhome’s occupants.

Theft

• A 24-year-old homeless man from Centralia was cited for shoplifting from a grocery store in the 5000 block of South Tower Avenue just before 8:40 a.m. on Jan. 29.

• A 40-year-old Chehalis woman was cited for shoplifting from a grocery store in the 500 block of South Tower Avenue just before 4:05 p.m. on Jan. 29.

• A male subject reportedly “grabbed seven pairs of shoes” inside a store in the 1300 block of Lum Road and “ran out of the store without paying” just after 4:45 p.m. on Jan. 29.

• Credit cards that were reported stolen during a vehicle prowl in Centralia were used in the 400 block of Northwest Chehalis Avenue in Chehalis just before 10 a.m. on Jan. 30.

• Just before 5:05 p.m. on Jan. 30, a caller reported their vehicle’s rear license plate was stolen from the 500 block of South Ash Street sometime overnight.

Vehicle accidents

• A minor vehicle accident was reported in a parking lot in the 1100 block of Harrison Avenue just after 11 a.m. on Jan. 29.

• A non-injury, two-vehicle collision was reported in the 800 block of South Gold Street at 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 30.

Malicious mischief

• A 40-year-old homeless man from Rochester was cited for “throwing his coffee and ruining items on a display” inside an auto parts store in the 600 block of Harrison Avenue just after 7:55 a.m. on Jan. 30.

LEWIS COUNTY JAIL STATISTICS

As of Wednesday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 144 inmates, including 131 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 108 were reported male and 23 were reported female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were reported male and two were reported female.
