Rainier girls win six titles to take meet at Napavine

Madison Ingram and Haleigh Hanson each won two events in Napavine on Tuesday, helping Rainier to a team title on the girls side of a seven-team C2BL track meet.

Ingram and teammate Angelica Askey finished first and second, respectively, in both the 800 and the 1600. Hanson won the shot put (35 feet, 6.5 inches) and the discus (123-2).

Katelyn Eckroth added a win in the javelin (97-5.5) for the Mountaineers and Ella Marvin won the pole vault in 10-3.

Maddie Dickinson won the 100 meters (13.47 seconds) and the 200 (27.81) for the host Tigers.

Adna’s Karsyn Freeman won the 100 hurdles (17.57) and the 300 hurdles (54.58).



Pe Ell’s Carter Phelps highlighted the action in the boys meet. The senior swept the hurdles, winning the 110s in 15.81 and the 300s in 41.26, and add a win in the long jump with a personal-best mark of 19-1.

Napavine’s Colin Shields won the shot put at 44-9 and the javelin at 164-9. Teammate Austin Lyons won the triple jump (36-11.5).

Rainier’s Zach Hamilton won the 3200 in 11:03. Teammate Matthew Kenney won the discus at 150-9.

Adna’s Cohen Hartley won the 800 in 2:07.

Eatonville dominated on the boys side, finishing first as a team with 172 points over runner-up Rainier’s 92 and Napavine’s 91. Rainier won the girls meet with 159 points, edging Eatonville’s 142.
