Police arrested a man believed to be involved in a drive-by shooting in Battle Ground on Saturday afternoon, and located a second suspect who was also in the car, officials said.
Theodore Seaman, 44, is accused of one charge of drive-by-shooting for allegedly being behind the wheel at the time of the incident, which happened around 2 p.m. in the 1700 block of Northeast 12th Street, the Battle Ground police department said in a statement.
Police have not publicly identified the second suspect because they are a minor, but said that they are “cooperating with investigators.”
Witnesses who called 911 about the shooting said that Seaman and another person were fleeing the area in a silver Nissan sedan, and reported multiple gunshots being fired from the car, police say. It’s unclear who was pulling the trigger or if both people fired guns, officials said.
A Clark County sheriff’s deputy intercepted the car as Seaman drove into Battle Ground Lake State Park, and officers pulled the car over and arrested him, officials said. But Seaman’s passenger fled on foot, and a manhunt initially failed to find him despite using K-9 units and drones, police said. Police later announced early Sunday evening that they’d found the youth, but shared few details other than that they are a minor.
Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call detective Max Everett from the Battle Ground Police at 360-831-5001.
