A six-run lead quickly ballooned to double digits as Rainier pounded out 12 hits and took advantage of six errors in a 19-2 rout of Winlock on Thursday in a C2BL matchup at home.

Since losing seven in a row, the Mountaineers (7-8, 7-7 C2BL) have responded with five wins in their last six games. Their offense has come alive, scoring double figures in all but two contests. The bats woke up in the bottom of the fourth versus the Cardinals.

What started with an RBI double by Dayton Gardner torpedoed into an outburst that featured four RBI singles, a two-run double and a two-run infield error. Kaymen Larman finished with four runs batted in while three Rainier batters all crossed home four times. Its lineup combined for five extra-base hits.

Winlock (2-12, 2-12) scored one run each in the third and fourth innings, both on errors. Carter Svenson and Emilio Martinez each had a hit for the Cardinals, who will face Napavine on Monday in a league twinbill.

Rainier will battle Toutle Lake on Monday for two league games.
