Lewis County detectives investigating suspected homicide in Randle; suspect in custody

Detectives are investigating the death of a male discovered in the 100 block of Davis Creek Road in Randle on Sunday afternoon, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday. 

“A person of interest in the suspected homicide has been identified. The person of interest was already in police custody on a separate matter at the time the victim was discovered, and it is not believed there is any further danger to the public,” the sheriff’s office stated in a news release. 

Aid personnel and deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Davis Creek Road in Randle at about 1:10 p.m. on Sunday, April 14 “after the discovery of an unresponsive, non-breathing person with observed signs of trauma,” the sheriff’s office stated in the news release. “Upon arrival of medical personnel, they determined the person was deceased and turned the scene over to law enforcement.” 

The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office did not release the victim’s name on Tuesday. 



“An autopsy has been scheduled, and further information regarding the decedent, to include cause and manner of death, will be released by the Lewis County Coroner’s Office,” the sheriff’s office stated in the news release.

“This case remains active and due to the nature of the investigation, no further information is being released at this time,” the sheriff’s office stated.
