In loving memory of Camille Marie (Lind) Haskins: 1962-2024

Posted

Camille Marie (Lind) Haskins was born March 10, 1962, to Mary and Donald Lind in McCleary, Washington.

Camille and her family settled in Rochester, Washington, where she attended school, second through the 12th grade. During her high school career, she was an avid basketball player and was awarded a scholarship to play at Centralia College. Camille met the love of her life, Raymond Haskins, at the age of 7. They were married on Oct. 3, 1981, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. Raymond joined the Navy, and it took them to many new places, including Charleston, where she obtained a bachelor's degree in physical therapy and a master's degree in health science at the University of South Carolina.

Camille worked as a physical therapist for nearly 30 years. She and Raymond eventually moved their family back to Rochester in the summer of 1996, when they purchased Raymond‘s childhood home. Camille loved being a mom to her three sons: Zachary, wife Tera, Jeffrey, wife Ashley, and Connor, plus their cousin Dylan Haskins. During her leisurely time, you could find her tinkering around the farm, snapping pictures of old barns, rock hounding, reading, baking with her grandchildren and vacationing in Mexico.

In April 2023, Camille was diagnosed with lung cancer, and it eventually metastasized to her brain. On March 24, 2024, she went to be with the Lord.

Camille leaves behind her devoted husband of 42 years; her sons and their wives; and nine grandchildren; in addition to her siblings, Cathy Warner, Jim Grace and Lynn Rota; plus many cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Don Lind; mother, Mary Carlson; and brother, Larry Grace.

A memorial service will be held at noon, April 20, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Rochester. A celebration of life will follow after the service at the Swede Hall from 1 to 5 p.m.
