Centralia man injured in crash in Cowlitz County

A man from Centralia was injured Friday morning when his vehicle rolled into a fence in Lexington.

According to a Washington State Patrol press release, Carl D. Nielsen, 65, of Centralia, was traveling in a blue GMC truck on the southbound lane of Westside Highway, formerly State Route 411.

As he tried to move to the side of the road just north of King Road, his truck veered off and crashed into a fence.



According to the press release, the cause of the crash was a medical emergency, and no intoxicants were involved.

Nielsen, wearing a seatbelt during the collision, was transported to PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center. His truck was totaled and towed away from the scene.
