Bearcats dominate second straight 3A opponent

For the second consecutive game, W.F. West used a multitude of ways to manufacture runs and blitzed a Class 3A foe, this time dismantling North Thurston 13-2 on Friday night at Recreation Park in Chehalis.

One swing of the bat from Monroe Dalrymple turned a Bearcats first inning deficit into a one-run lead with a two-out, three-run homer. They cruised from that point on, scoring three more runs in the third and a five-spot in the fifth to enact the mercy rule.

Lena Fragner didn’t get a hit, but drove in three runs while Staysha Fluetsch and Gracie Elam notched two RBIs. Ella Young tossed four innings in the circle, striking out four Rams hitters.

W.F. West (2-0) has one more non-conference game before opening up EvCo action next week against Tumwater.
