Wednesday's Prep Boys Golf: Bearcats Claw Past Warriors

W.F. West’s Jaron Howell and Brady Hinds each shot a 40 to split medalist honors and help the Bearcats earn a 232-271 win over Rochester in an Evergreen 2A Conference boys golf match at Newaukum Valley Golf Course on Wednesday.

Rochester’s Marcus Ashton shot a 45 to earn third place.

Camryn Bostwick shot a 50 and Dirk Plakinger and Dawson Brindle each shot a 51. Tukker Rosbach carded a 53 to round out W.F. West.

For the Warriors, Marcus Corrento shot a 47 and Logan Fry fired a 53. Gare Masias shot a 57, Ethan Eyer carded a 69 and Elijah Spitzer rounded out the Warriors with a 73.

W.F. West heads to Tumwater Valley Golf Course on Thursday to take on Tumwater in an EvCo match, while Rochester hosts Tumwater on Monday at Riverside Golf Course in Chehalis.



Centralia Edges Tumwater

The Tigers came out swinging against Tumwater in an Evergreen 2A Conference boys golf match and it amounted to a 243-250 Centralia win at Riverside Golf Course in Chehalis on Wednesday.

Rudy Voetberg earned medalist with a 37. Teammate Nolan Rice took second place with a 44 and and Tumwater’s Parker Mercer finished third with a 45.

Brett Wasson carded a 52 and Luke Lennox recorded a 53. Jesse Kuykendall had a 57 and Brock Terry rounded out Centralia with a 60.

Centralia (2-1) travels to face Black Hills on Monday at Tumwater Valley Golf Course.
