Wednesday's Girls Golf: W.F. West Powers Past Rochester

W.F. West’s Abbey Link scored 20 points to earn medalist and lead the Lady Bearcats to a 71-42 win over Rochester in an Evergreen 2A Conference girls golf match at Riverside Golf Course on Wednesday.

Link had a solid performance on the greens with 18 total putts. Kate Balmelli finished second with 18 points and had a birdie on the Par 5 14th. Rochester’s Allison Beagley placed third with 17 points.

Haley Simmons recorded 14 points and Elizabeth Twining added 11 points for W.F. West. Aeryn Elder had eight points and McKenna Klovdahl — in her first varsity match — rounded out the Bearcats with seven points.

Kyra Darnell scored nine points, Emma Green added eight points and Shelby Baird recorded six points. Alex Anderson and Elizabeth Miller each scored two points for Rochester.

W.F. West travels to Tumwater Valley to face Black Hills on Monday while Rochester hosts Aberdeen at Riverside on Monday in an EvCo match.



Black Hills Rolls Through Centralia

TUMWATER — Tessa Smith led Centralia with nine points, but Black Hills earned a 114-15 win in an EvCo girls golf match at Tumwater Valley Golf Course on Wednesday.

McKenna Canty earned medalist with 33 points. Niki Jones finished second with 28 points and Jacelynn Tyner placed third with 24 points.

Ricky Hull-Camacho and Montana Knapstad each recorded three points for Centralia.

Centralia travels back to Tumwater Valley on Tuesday to face Tumwater in a league contest.
