Tuesday's Track & Field: Pe Ell’s Shepherd Wins Three at Toutle

TOUTLE — Pe Ell’s Ryan Shepherd won three events here Tuesday in a four-team Central 2B League track meet.

Shepherd, a senior, won the triple jump at 38 feet, 4 inches, took the long jump at 18-8, and won the javelin at 156-11. Teammate Kaleb McCalden won the high jump by nine inches (6-01) and the discus by nearly 20 feet (a personal-best 120-11), and Jeremiah Yost won the shot put for the Trojans at 41-04.

Adna’s Brady Collins won the 100 meters (11.42 seconds) and the 200 (23.69), while Luke Wellander won both hurdle races for the Pirates, taking the 100 in 15.87 and the 300 in 42.78. Jackson Humphrey won the 800 for Adna in 2:17, and Collins, Wellander, Zander Blankenship and Braden Thomas teamed up to win the 4x100 relay in 45.34 seconds.

The Pirates won both sides of the meet, with the boys edging Pe Ell 92-71 and the girls topping Wahkiakum 89-74.

Lauryn Apperson and Tori Lange each won two events for the Adna girls. Apperson topped the field in the 800, winning in 2:40.48, and won the 1600 in 5:56. Lange won the 100 hurdles in 17.56 and the 300 hurdles in 55.13.

Freshman Hannah Bilodeau won the 100 meters (14.00) with teammate Cierra Swenson finishing second, and Swenson won the 200 (29.76) with Bilodeau finishing second. Swenson, Lange, Bilodeau and Maddie Kleemeyer won the 4x100 relay in 55.75 seconds.

Pe Ell’s Maggie Elliott won both the high jump (4-08) and the javelin (109-9).

Adna and Pe Ell both run in the Freshman Invitational on Saturday at Centralia’s Tiger Stadium.

Mossyrock Girls Sweep Relays, Throwing Events in Morton

MORTON — The Mossyrock girls won both relays and all three throwing events here Tuesday in a four-team Central 2B League track meet.

Jamie Carlson won the javelin at 113 feet, 2 inches for the Viking girls, with Ava Nelson taking the discus (100-6) and Heather Edgar winning the shot put (35-0.5).

Gracie Lovan, Maleah Nixon Klein, Sarah Lovan and Stephanie Fried won the 4x200 relay in 1 minute, 54 seconds, and Nixon Klein, Fried, Sarah Lovan and Jillian Cournyer won the 4x100 relay (54.24). No winner was recorded in the 4x400 race.

Cournyer added a win in the 200 (31.14), edging teammate and fellow freshman Gracie Lovan (31.15) for first, and Andee Nelson won the triple jump (28-10.5) for the Vikings, who finished second to Rainier (94-82) in the team standings.

Elexcious Hampton won the 800 (2:48) for MWP, with Kaylen Collette winning the 3200 (13:15) and Jacie Dunlap taking the 100-meter hurdles (19.80). Nyla Sams added a win in the high jump (4-2) for the Timberwolves.

Winlock’s Elizabeth Gabbert won the long jump at 13-02.5.



On the boys side, Tristen Storey won the 100 (11.40) and the 200 (23.69) for the host Timberwolves, with Levi Clements adding wins in both hurdle races (17.28 in the 100, 42.91 in the 300). Zack Jennings won the 1600 (5:28) and Takoda Seymer won the 3200 (11.20). Storey, Jesse Urban, Marcos Garcia and Manuel Martinez teamed up to win the 4x100 (45.73 seconds), and Seymer added a win in the triple jump (32-10). The MWP boys beat out Rainier, 88-67, for first.

Mossyrock’s James Cushman won the long jump (17-08) and teamed up with Gerardo Salgado, TJ Villanueva and Lucas Johnson to win the 4x400, and teammate Charlie Paz-Tapia won the 800 (2:29).

Winlock sophomore Bryce Cline won the high jump at 5-8.

Mossyrock runs in Ridgefield’s Spudder Classic on Friday. Morton-White Pass runs in the C2BL championships on May 11 in Kalama.

Napavine’s Stewart Wins Four at Onalaska

ONALASKA — Chloe Stewart won four events for Napavine here in a four-team Central 2B League track meet Tuesday afternoon.

Stewart, a sophomore, won the triple jump at 33 feet, 2 inches, won the long jump at 15-05, and won both hurdle races, taking the 100-meter hurdles in a personal-record 16-36 seconds and the 300 in 50.06.

The Napavine girls finished first, with 166 points to edge Kalama (142). Freshman Haily Murray added a win in the high jump (4-04) for the Tigers.

Toledo’s Abigail Rose won the 100 (13.18) and the 400 (1:07), and took second in the 200. She also ran a leg of the winning 4x100 team (53.41) with Kal Schaplow, Alyssa Gaskill and Ally Bacon. Schaplow also won the javelin (116-03), and freshman Stacie Spahr won the discus (85-04).

Onalaska’s Carmen Cleveland-Barrera won the shot put at 33-09.5.

Toledo’s boys finished second, 267-174, to Kalama, with the Chinooks winning 11 events.

Nicholas Marty won the 1600 for Toledo (4:58), Anthony Peak won the 300 hurdles (44.38), and Michael Echtle won the discus (111-05).

Napavine’s Draven Riddle won the long jump (19-01) and the triple jump (41-00), with Toledo’s Reece Wallace finishing second in both events.

Napavine runs in a Pacific 2B League meet at Chief Leschi on Thursday. Onalaska and Toledo both run in Ridgefield’s Spudder Classic on Friday.
