ABERDEEN — W.F. West dropped just one set all day here on Tuesday as they swept the Bobcats 6-0 in Evergreen 2A Conference boys tennis action.

On the singles side of things the Bearcats were perfect. Gabe Cuestas defeated Brice Cola 6-2, 6-1, Luke Walters defeated Ashton Swope 6-1, 6-0, and Andrew Boggess defeated Carter Olsen 6-4, 6-0.

“I thought all three singles did a great job,” said W.F. West coach Jack State.

State noted that Luke Waters was one player who was able to clean up his game in particular.

“He really did a great job of not making unforced errors,” State said.

In doubles action Cade Cameron and Joseph Chung dropped Colton Faulkner and Andrew Troeh 6-4 and 6-3 at the top of the card, while Jacob Blomdahl and Christian Iverson defeated Eric Eng and Kobie Fall 6-1 and 6-3 in the third pairing. Caleb Walters and Collin Slattery required an extra set but still emerged with the victory with scores of 3-6, 6-1 and 6-1.

“The first set they just made too many mistakes but then they settled down. They knew what they’d done wrong and came out and played much better,” State said of Walters and Slattery.

W.F. West (4-2, 2-1 league) will host Centralia on Wednesday.
