NAPAVINE — Napavine earned a win against Mossyrock and followed it up with a win against Rainier in Central 2B League softball action here on Thursday.
The Tigers defeated Mossyrock in three innings, 17-0. Ada Williams pitched all three innings, allowing one hit with six strikeouts. She helped her own cause at the plate with a two run home run.
Rae Sisson was 2-for-2 with a triple and three RBI and Kaiya Larson was 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBI.
Napavine scored 14 runs in the second inning.
The Tigers and Mountaineers resumed a rained out game from earlier this season, with Napavine winning 14-1 in five innings.
Williams had another solid performance in the circle, allowing two hits while striking out 10 batters. She added a triple, two walks, three runs and three RBI.
Solana Sanchez was 2-for-3 with two doubles and four RBI and Sisson was 2-for-4.
The game resumed with the Tigers up 12-1 in the bottom of the third inning. Napavine scored one run in the fourth and fifth innings to complete the win.
“Offensively, we’ve been hitting the ball and playing pretty well. Today, in the two games, I was very happy,” Napavine coach Chad Williams said. “Mossyrock game, we didn’t have any errors. It sure makes it a lot easier when you don’t give extra outs to the other team so that was good.”
Napavine (7-10, 5-8) travels to Kalama on Tuesday for their final C2BL game of the season.
Onalaska Tops Raymond
ONALASKA — The Loggers collected eight hits and kept the Seagulls at bay to earn a 13-3 win in five innings in a non-league softball game here on Thursday.
Amy Henderson pitched all five innings, allowing three hits while accumulating four strikeouts. She was also 2-for-4 with three RBI. Raelee Holmes had a hit and two RBI and Hannah James was 3-for-4 with a solo home run in the fourth inning.
Onalaska scored four runs in the second and third innings. The Loggers plated three runs in the fourth inning and added two more runs in the fifth to conclude the game.
“They looked good, they’re getting ready for the big matchup tomorrow, big matchup coming up next week with Toutle Lake,” Onalaska coach Rich Teitzel said. “It was senior night. They played great, they were pumped up.”
It was senior night for Onalaska’s Adalee Sabin, Amy Henderson, Olivia Mitten and Trina Wolfe.
Onalaska (13-5, 11-2) travels to Ocosta on Friday for a non-league game.
Morton-White Pass Defeats Kittitas, Falls to Cle Elum
KITTITAS — Morton-White Pass earned a win against Kittitas in their first game but fell to Cle Elum in their second game here in non-league softball action on Thursday.
MWP earned a 24-23 win over Kittitas. Hannah Smathers was 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI and Jaiden Linder hit a three RBI triple. Emmalee Hazen hit a RBI triple and added a sacrifice fly and Kylie Davis had a RBI single and a sacrifice fly.
The T-Wolves scored 11 runs in the first inning to build a commanding lead. Kittitas scored 19 runs over the final four innings but MWP held off the Coyotes with seven runs in the fourth and five runs in the sixth inning to secure the win.
The T-Wolves used up all their runs in the first game, falling to Cle Elum 17-1 in five innings.
Hailey Brooks, Smathers and Hazen each had a hit and Smathers knocked in the only run of the game for MWP.
Cle Elum scored at least two runs in each inning, recording five runs in the first inning and six runs in the fourth inning.
“It was a little different speed. The Cle Elum girl threw hard and we didn’t adjust, too many strikeouts. The wind was real bad, we just couldn’t track the ball down,” MWP coach Rob Hazen said. “We kind of wore down in the heat and the wind. We played good in the first game, they hit the ball pretty good.”
MWP (12-6, 8-5) travels to Mossyrock on Monday for a doubleheader. The first game is a league game while the second game is a non-league contest.
