ONALASKA — The Lady Loggers were too much for Winlock here on Saturday, winning 4-0 in a Central 2B League girls soccer game.
Winlock coach Brian Ziese was pleased with the Cardinals’ performance against Onalaska.
“We played well. Onalaska played well too, they had a real good game,” Ziese said. “It was good for them to come out and play hard, but we got nothing going offensively.”
Ziese noted the performance of 8th grade goalkeeper Kiya Peppers, not allowing a goal after being subbed in late in the game.
Napavine Takes Down Toutle Lake in Overtime
NAPAVINE — Napavine’s Halee Williams scored with a minute left in the second overtime to propel the Tigers to a 2-1 win over Toutle Lake in a Central 2B League girls soccer match here on Saturday.
It was scoreless after halftime, but the Tigers got on the board first in the second half with an own goal by Toutle Lake. The Ducks tied the game in the 79th minute to send the game to overtime.
There were no goals in the first overtime, but Williams’ late goal secured the win for Napavine.
“They always continue fighting. I was very proud, their mentality was better, which we’ve struggled with that in the past,” Napavine coach Emily Boettcher said. “The girls felt off. Overall, I’m always proud they don’t give up. We won and they were happy.”
Boettcher was pleased with the performance of goalkeeper Sydney Burdick, who is usually a forward, play solid in the net for the Tigers.
Note: Ocosta defeated Toledo 3-1 in Toledo on Saturday in a C2BL game.

Toledo’s Marty Wins Toutle Lake Invitational
TOUTLE — Toledo’s Nicholas Marty won the boys race at the 14-school Toutle Lake Invitational cross country meet here on Saturday.
Marty finished the race in 17:04. Three Rivers Christian’s Ryan Ransom placed second and Toutle Lake’s Henry Foultner placed third.
Rochester placed second as a team and had two runner in the top six, with Casey Reese finishing fifth with a time of 18:22 and teammate Levi Jennings placing sixth with a time of 18:31.
Napavine’s Caleb Perz Stewart (18:49) earned 11th place and Rochester’s Jared Winters (19:32) finished in 16th. Seth Moceri (19:48) and Jamison Cody (19:50) finished 19th and 20th, respectively for the Warriors.
Tenino’s Drew Hart (19:57) was the highest finisher for the Beavers in 23rd place and Onalaska’s Devon Wright (20:57) placed 35th.
On the girls side, Onalaska’s Renate Prazak was the highest local finisher in 6th place with a time of 23:11. Tenino’s Katie Snyder finished 9th in 23:33 and toledo’s Greenlee Clark earned 10th in 23:39.
Toutle Lake’s Meleah Kandoll won the race in 20:57.
Toledo’s Ashley White (24:30) placed 12th, Rochester’s Gabriella Holman (24:41) finished in 13th and Onalaska’s Samantha Conner (25:41) placed 15th.
Toledo’s Heather Fenison (25:50) took 16th place, Tenino’s Claire Scibelli finished in 17th place and Napavine’s Kayla Bornstien (27:13) placed 18th.
Rochester hosts Centralia on Wednesday in an Evergreen 2A Conference dual meet and Tenino travels to an Evergreen 1A League meet in Hoquiam on Thursday.
Napavine and Onalaska compete next at a Central 2B League meet at Toutle Lake while Toledo travels to Rainier on Tuesday for a C2BL meet.
W.F. West’s Lima Places Top 25 at Curtis Invite
UNIVERSITY PLACE — W.F. West’s Francisco Lima was the highest finisher for the Bearcats at the Curtis Invite cross country meet here on Saturday.
Lima placed 22nd with a time of 16:59.80. Henry Robbins finished 40th with a time of 17:28 and William Taylor earned 97th place with a time of 18:41.
Lakeside’s (Seattle) Sanjay Raman won the race with a time of 16:05.50.
On the girls side, Savannah Johnston finished in 83rd place with a time of 23:22. Xylia Warner placed 86th with a time of 23:57 and teammate Riley Johnston took 87th with a time of 23:59.
W.F. West races next in home dual meet with Black Hills on Wednesday at Stan Hedwall Park in Chehalis.
College Volleyball
Centralia Falls to Grays Harbor, Highline
The Lady Blazers lost to Grays Harbor in an NWAC West Region match and Highline in non-league volleyball action.
On Wednesday, Centralia traveled to Aberdeen and fell to Grays Harbor 3-0 with set scores of 25-22, 25-21 and 25-17.
In Friday’s match, the Blazers lost 3-1 to Highline in Centralia. Highline took the first set, 25-21, but Centralia won the second set 25-18. Highline won the next two sets with scores of 25-17 and 26-24 to win the match.
Centralia’s Autumn Durand had 15 kills and seven digs. Tianna Hanohano recorded 10 kills and seven digs and Peyton Timmons tallied 31 assists.
Stephanie Fried led the Blazers with 14 digs and Macey Martin added 11 assists.
Centralia (7-14, 0-2) travels to Pierce on Wednesday before hosting Tacoma on Friday in West Region games.
College Soccer
Bellevue, Highline Take Down Centralia
Centralia played two NWAC West Region women’s soccer matches last week, falling to Highline and Bellevue.
On Wednesday, Centralia lost to Highline 11-0 at Starfire Stadium in Tukwila. Highline’s Jewel Boland scored a hat trick and Rayna Santiago and Hannah Anderson each had two goals. Skyylerblu Johnson, Chloe Lamenzo, Savannah Nichols, Jordan Goolsby each scored a goal for the Thunderbirds.
Highline outshot Centralia 33-0. Haylee Perkinson made 12 saves and Kiley Russell stopped five shots for the Blazers.
On Saturday, Bellevue defeated Centralia 7-0 at Tiger Stadium in Centralia.
Bellevue’s Haile Wrzesinski, Katelyn Reeves, Carson Harris, Donnya Kvinge, Hailey Walker, Lauren Landis and Katelyn Evans each score a goal for the Bulldogs.
Kiley Russell made six saves and Haylee Perkinson recorded 17 saves for the Blazers.
Centralia (2-10-1, 1-6) travels to Longview to face Lower Columbia on Wednesday and hosts Grays Harbor on Saturday in two West Region games.
