Centralia’s Rudy Voetberg earned medalist honors as the Tigers won 236-247 against Tumwater in an Evergreen 2A Conference boys golf match at Riverside Golf Course in Chehalis on Monday.

Voetberg carded a 38 and teammate Brett Wasson finished second with a 43. Jesse Kuykendall placed third for the Tigers with a 46.

Nolan Rice recorded a 49 and Jayden Pannette rounded out Centralia with a 60.

“We played real well. It was a tough day to play golf. It was raining the whole time, the greens had just been plugged so they were sandy,” Centralia coach Hal Gronseth. “Rudy’s 38 is a really outstanding score for the conditions we played in. Everybody else came in OK. We’re in a league that you have to play pretty well. Playing at Riverside, some of the Tumwater kids struggled a bit on a different course.”

Centralia travels to Tumwater Valley on Wednesday to take on Black Hills.
