College Baseball: Centralia’s Season Ends in Loss to Everett

EVERETT — Centralia’s season came to an end here on Sunday, losing to Everett 6-1 in an NWAC Baseball super regional game.

Colton Titus was 2 for 4 with a double and a run. Gabe Farrer was also 2 for 4 with an RBI single in the fourth inning to bring home Titus for the Blazers’ lone run of the game.

Taylor Mondina also had two hits for Centralia.

A.J. Palmer started on the mound for the Blazers and pitched five innings, allowing six hits with two earned runs and three strikeouts.

The Trojans scored a run in the second and third inning, which was enough to earn the win. Everett scored two runs in the fifth and a run in each the seventh and eighth inning as insurance.

It was the final game for sophomores’ Bryce Wolfe, Gabe Farrer, Riley Olsen, Jack Oswood, Taylor Mondina, Cody Derosier, Wes Kuzminsky and Sam Chapman.

Blazers Stay Alive With 4-2 Win Over Mt. Hood

EVERETT — Cody Derosier and Cole Doughty had solid pitching performances to lead the Blazers to a 4-2 win over Mount Hood at Everett Memorial Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Derosier threw 4 ⅔ innings, allowing three hits, one earned run, six walks and three strikeouts. Doughty came on in relief and pitched 4 ⅓ innings and allowed one hit, no earned runs with four strikeouts.



Colton Titus was 2 for 5 with a run and Taylor Mondina was also 2 for 5 for the Blazers. Gabe Farrer had a double, a run and an RBI and Bryce Wolfe hit the game winning RBI single in the sixth inning.

Centralia and Mount Hood were tied at two after five innings. The Blazers scored two runs in the sixth inning and Doughty held off Everett’s bats down the stretch.

The Blazers needed two wins to get out of the super regional and into the final eight over Everett.

Saints Start Hot to Top Centralia 12-2

Mount Hood scattered 11 hits and 12 runs over nine innings to cruise to a 12-2 win in seven innings over Centralia in the opening round game of an NWAC North Super Regional baseball game at Archbishop Murphy on Saturday.

Wes Kuzminsky was 2 for 4 and Colton Titus and Taylor Mondina each had a hit and run for Centralia.

Blake Marker had a hit and an RBI and Braden Smutz added an RBI for the Blazers.

Mount Hood pitcher Trace Hokkanen started and threw seven innings, allowing two earned runs with four strikeouts in the win.

Mt. Hood scored 10 runs over the first four frames and added two runs in the seventh to end the game with the 10-run mercy rule.
