Cudney, Cash Lead Lady Blazers Past Rival Red Devils

LONGVIEW — Selena Cudney and Megan Cash each scored 19 points here Wednesday, leading Centralia past Lower Columbia in NWAC West Region women’s basketball action.

Cudney added four rebounds, four steals and a pair of blocked shots, while Cash went 6 of 8 from the field and dished out six assists.

The Blazers shot 45 percent (25 of 56) from the field and, on the defensive end, harassed Lower Columbia into 23 turnovers.

Piper Cai added 11 points for Centralia, while Caitlin Yenne chipped in seven with five rebounds.

Madison Mosier led Lower Columbia with 13 points.



Centralia (8-7, 1-0 league) plays at Pierce on Saturday.

Red Devils Run Past Centralia 93-65

LONGVIEW — Lower Columbia put the pedal to the metal in the second half and cruised here Wednesday night, beating Centralia 93-65 in NWAC West Region men’s basketball action.

Taylor Pomerroy came off the bench to lead the Red Devils with 19 points. Alexis Angeles added 17, while Adna product Cody Young chipped in eight points and three assists in 17 minutes of action.

L’Marcus Walker led Centralia with 13 points. Tyler Ashmore and Taylor Peppinger scored 11 apiece, with Kobe Matsen adding eight rebounds.

Centralia (5-10, 0-1 league) plays at Pierce on Saturday.
