2B Softball: Adna Sweeps Doubleheader Against Morton-White Pass

ADNA — Adna won both games — 10-0 and 9-8 — of a Central 2B League softball doubleheader against Morton-White Pass here on Wednesday.

It was all Adna in Game 1, with the Pirates earning a 10-0 win in six innings.

Jenikka Poppe was solid on the mound, pitching the complete game with three hits and nine strikeouts.

Poppe also went 2 for 3 at the plate with a home run, a double, two RBIs and a run. Darian Humphrey was 2 for 4 with an RBI, Abigail Kruger was 2 for 3 with two runs and Olivia Rodriguez was 2 for 2 with two runs and an RBI.

Adna scored two runs in the third to open the scoring and recorded eight runs in the sixth inning to end the game.

Game 2 was a different story, as Adna hung on for a 9-8 win.

Kiyah Kennedy came on in relief and pitched four innings, allowing two hits and striking out nine for the Pirates.

At the plate, Haley Rainey was 4 for 4 with a double, a triple, four RBIs and three runs. Humphrey was 2 for 4 with two RBIs and Poppe was 2 for 4 with a triple and three RBI.

Emmalee Hazen was 2 for 4 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs for MWP. Sydney Brooks was 2 for 3 with three RBIs and Jaiden Linder was 2 for 4 with a run.

Adna scored three runs in the first, second and fourth innings while MWP scored two runs in the first, second, fourth and fifth innings but couldn’t get the tying run across as the Pirates held on for the win.

Adna (8-2) hosts Pe Ell-Willapa Valley on Thursday in a doubleheader while MWP (4-6) hosts Onalaska in a C2BL doubleheader in Randle on Friday.

Squibb Pushes Winlock Past Mossyrock

MOSSYROCK — Winlock’s Raychel Squibb was effective in two games in the circle and at the plate to help the Cardinals earn a sweep against Mossyrock in a Central 2B League softball doubleheader here on Wednesday.

The Cardinals took Game 1, 15-0, in three innings. Squibb had three hits, including two home runs, and Addison Hall added two hits.

Mossyrock’s Jolee Hadaller had a double and Hannah Goin also had a hit.

It was the same story in Game 2 as the Cardinals won 16-2 in five innings.

Squibb pitched all five innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits with eight strikeouts. She helped her cause at the plate with a hit, three runs and two RBIs.

Jenna Jones had three hits, with a double and three RBIs, for Winlock. Sabrena Barragan was 2 for 3 with two runs and two RBIs and Karlie Jones was 2 for 3 with a triple, four RBIs and three runs.

Gracie West and Hadaller each had doubles for Mossyrock. Goin added two hits and Bailey Tofaeono also added a hit.

The Cardinals led 5-0 after three innings before scoring nine runs in the fourth inning to secure the win.

Winlock (5-5, 4-5 league) hosts Toutle Lake on Thursday in a league doubleheader, while Mossyrock (0-9) hosts Wahkiakum on Friday.

Napavine Fends Off Onalaska

NAPAVINE — Abbi Music struck out seven batters in seven innings of work to help the Tigers to an 8-4 win over Onalaska in a Central 2B League softball game here Wednesday.



Music allowed two hits and four runs in the circle, while going 2 for 2 at the plate with a double, three runs and two walks.

Maddie Thompson was 2 for 3 with two runs and a walk and Courtney Oster was 2 for 4 with three RBIs and a run for Napavine.

Amy Henderson had both hits for the Loggers.

Napavine led 4-2 after one inning and added three more runs in the second inning to put the game away.

“Onalaska played great, they came ready to play. They tested us, they pushed us, and we’ve got to clean up some of the stuff on defense,” Napavine coach Chad Williams said. “We rely heavily on Abbi. When teams are putting the ball in play, we’ve got to make some plays behind her. At the same time, Ony came in undefeated and they’re a great team. I’m extremely happy to get out of there with a win.”

Napavine (9-0, 8-0 league) travels to Rainier tomorrow for a league doubleheader while Onalaska (6-1) travels to Randle to face Morton-White Pass on Friday in a C2BL doubleheader.

Titans Crush Mountaineers

RAINIER — Pe Ell-Willapa Valley recorded 44 hits in two games to earn a sweep in a Central 2B League softball doubleheader against Rainier here on Wednesday.

The Titans won game one 22-1 in three innings, scoring 10 runs in the first frame.

Kamryn Adkins pitched all three innings, striking out five batters while allowing two hits.

At the plate, Katie Adkins was 3 for 3 with a double, a triple and four RBIs and Sid Pollard had a single, a double, a home run and four RBIs.

Britney Patrick had two home runs, including a grand slam, and seven RBIs, and Kamryn Adkins went 4 for 4 with a double, a home run and three RBIs.

The Titans won 16-1 in the four-inning nightcap while scoring eight runs in the first inning.

Katie Adkins pitched all of Game 2, striking out five.

PWV totaled 21 hits in the late game, with Katelyn McGough going 4 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Pollard had two doubles and two RBIs and Presley Peterson had a triple, an inside-the-park home run and four RBIs.

PWV (10-0) travels to Adna Thursday for a C2BL doubleheader.

Toledo Falls to Toutle Lake

TOLEDO — Toutle Lake’s pitching was too much for Toledo here on Wednesday as the Ducks earned a 14-0 win in five innings in a C2BL softball game.

Amya Thomassom and Brooke Beecroft each had a hit for Toledo.

Toledo’s Haleigh Holmes pitched all five innings.

“We did alright. We’re hitting the ball, but we’re hitting right to them and they’re making the plays,” Toledo coach Ashlee Gieseke said.

Toledo travels to Cathlamet on Monday to face Wahkiakum in a C2BL doubleheader.
