MORTON — Bryce Cline ran for three scores and had another touchdown through the air to lead Winlock to a 41-0 win over Morton-White Pass in a non-divisional SWW 2B football game here on Friday.

Cline had 155 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries. He was 14-of-32 passing for 160 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. Nolan Swofford added 91 yards and two scores on the ground and Noah Patching was the leading receiver for the Cardinals with four catches for 70 yards and a score.

MWP’s offense couldn’t get much going, rushing for minus-6 yards and 46 total yards of offense. Keegan Kelly was 8-of-29 for 52 yards and Layten Collette caught three passes for 25 yards.

Winlock had 520 yards of total offense.

“The Cline kid just killed us. He’s a stud,” MWP coach Lee Metcalf said. “He threw the ball to multiple receivers for multiple receptions so they spread the ball around pretty good.”

Cline scored the only touchdown of the first quarter on a 55-yard run. Swofford started the scoring in the second quarter with a 4-yard run and Cline followed it up with a score on a 1-yard run. Cline found Patching for an 11-yard TD pass for a 28-0 lead at halftime.

There were no points scored in the third quarter but Cline scored his third rushing touchdown of the game on a 1-yard run and Swofford capped off the win with his second TD of the game on a 4-yard run.

“We’re starting five or six freshman at a time and we’re beat up so it just adds to the frustration,” Metcalf said. “It’s just an uphill battle right now. We’re losing in size and strength but we’re young so they’ve just got to take their lumps and get better. And we will.”

Winlock (3-1) travels to Kalama next Friday to begin River Division games. Morton-White Pass (1-3) hits the road to face Onalaska in the Mountain Division opener.
