2A/1A Track: Rochester Boys, Girls Win at Tenino

TENINO — Rochester’s boys and girls teams each picked up wins here Tuesday afternoon during a five-team Evergreen 2A/1A League track meet.

Jordan McLemore won two events for the Warriors boys — the 200 meters in 24.44 seconds and the long jump at 19 feet, 3 inches — while teammate Tanner Nelson won the high jump at 5-06. Kade Keller was second in the javelin and third in the discus, Peter Holman won the 1600 (4:38) and Cylas Belknap won the 3200 (11:15) for Rochester.

Tenino’s Jon Jonesnewman won the shot put at 43-02 and took second in the discus, and Winlock’s Evan Mitchell won the javelin at 136-03.

The Warriors girls got two wins each from Alexa Black (100, 13.49; 200, 28.04) and Kendra Sanford (100 hurdles, 17.20; 300 hurdles, 51.54). Keeli Demers added a win in the shot put (31-04) and took second in the discus and javelin.



Tenino’s girls finished third, with a win from Aleana Bronson in the 400 (1:07.57). Taylor Tibbetts won the discus (100-05) and took second in the shot put.

The Beaver girls also swept the three relays. Keilah and Alanna Dowies, Braelyn Weatherbie, Baily Fisher won the 4x100 in 55.44; Ryann Wachert, Hailey Roellich, and the Dowies’ won the 4x200 in 2:00.19; and Wachert, Fisher, Bronson and Keilah Dowies won the 4x400 in 5:04.30.

Winlock’s Sarah Howsden won the javelin at 106-05.

Rochester will run at Ridgefield’s Spudder Track & Field Classic on Friday, while Tenino is off until the Evergreen 2A/1A League championships in Hoquiam on May 15.
