FORKS — Onalaska cruised to a 59-23 win here Thursday night in SWW 1A League Evergreen Division girls hoops play.
“We started off sluggish,” Logger coach Doug Ashmore said. “It was a long road trip.
“The second quarter I thought defensively we got a lot of points in our transition,” the coach added. “We were in a full man to man press, got some good opportunities and good shots.”
Kalie Ritchey was the only Logger in double figures with 17 points. Sarah Barnes scored 8.
Ashmore was impressed with his team’s lack of turnovers (seven on the night).
“The girls took good care of the basketball,” he said. “We haven’t been under 20 in five games.”
The coach also commended the play of Samantha Gordon (7 points) and Ritchey, the two Logger seniors.
Onalaska (15-4, 9-3 league) hosts Rochester Tuesday night.
