CATHLAMET — The young Cardinals couldn’t get much going against Wahkiakum here on Friday, losing 11-0 and 14-0 in a Central 2B League baseball double-dip.

Brady Steveson had the lone hit for Winlock in Game 1, while the Mules took advantage of three Cardinal errors to make the most of five hits.

The nightcap didn’t go much better for Winlock, which had three hits and committed five errors in the 14-0 Game 2 loss. Derek Chilcoate had two hits, while Steveson added the third.

“It was just errors again,” Winlock coach Scott Weinert said. “As a young team, you’ve got to control throws and catches.”

Winlock (0-4) will play a C2BL doubleheader at Napavine on Wednesday.
