RIDGEFIELD — Centralia’s Aaron Pullin qualified for state in three different events here Friday in the District 4 Track & Field Championships.

Pullin, a senior, won the 200 meters in 22.58 seconds, the 110 hurdles (14.61) and added third-place finishes in the high jump (5 feet, 11.5 inches) and the pole vault (13 feet).

“That was even amazing because those events were happening side-by-side,” Centralia coach Tim Penman said. “He did a great job to squeeze all of those events in.”

The top three finishers in each event advanced to the State 2A Track & Field Championships, which start on Thursday at Mount Tahoma High School.

W.F. West will send two individual-event boys on to state. Eric Braun took second in the 400 (50.93 seconds), and Nolan Camlin finished second in the 300-meter hurdles (41.31). Braun and Camlin both ran legs of the third-place 4x400 relay squad, along with Justin Wendling and Terek Thornburg.

McKenna Moon won a district championship in the 800 meters on the girls side in 2:22.80, helping W.F. West to a fourth-place team finish, and took second in the high jump. Emma Moon finished third in the 3200, while teammate Anna Kast won a title in the shot put (33 feet, 4 inches).

Centralia’s Kary Sathre advanced to state with a second-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles.

Rochester’s Sharon Smith finished second in the 400 meters to head to state, while teammate Kendra Sanford was third in the 100 hurdles. Keeli Demers finished second in the javelin by less than a foot at 112 feet, 10 inches, coming in behind only Washougal’s Anna Sharp (113-08). Rochester’s Smith, Sanford, Alexa Black and Brianna Tomton took third in the 4x200 relay.

Events start at 3:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon in the state 2A, 3A and 4A championships in Tacoma, and begin at 9 a.m. on Friday morning and 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
