Vikings Top Hawks’ JV

BRUSH PRAIRIE — Nic Gressett, Jordan Bowman, and John Pomeroy combined for 10 strikeouts from the Mossyrock mound in a 6-3 win over Hockinson’s JV here Monday in nonleague baseball action.

Pomeroy and Bowman struck out the sides in the third and fourth innings, respectively.

“Our pitching was great,” Viking coach Cole Kanyer said.

Offensively, Gressett went 3 of 4 and Anthony St. Pierre went 2 for 3, helping the Vikings — who had a total of 10 hits — achieve a 5-1 advantage through two innings of play.

“We came out right off the bat and scored three runs,” Kanyer said. “That was a big confidence booster right there.”

The Vikings never allowed more than one run in an inning, which Kanyer said was impressive for a first game.

Mossyrock (1-0) hosts Toutle Lake Saturday at noon.
