ELMA — After already playing three games this week the Warrior pitching staff was worn thin, but still found a way to pull out a win.

Rochester rallied behind Zach Eastman’s six-inning pitching performance to earn an 11-6 win over Elma in nonleague baseball action here Friday afternoon.

The senior hurler gave up six runs on 11 hits, while striking out six and walking two.

“Our pitching staff was pretty thin today and Eastman did a great job for us,” said Rochester coach Jerry Striegel. “He kept the ball down and did a great job of keeping hitters off balance.”

The Warriors used a six-run fourth inning to propel them to a third straight win.

Mitch Francis finished the day 2 for 2, and John Holman’s single in the fourth frame scored two runs. He finished the day 4-4 with two doubles and a triple.

“John hit the ball hard all four times,” said Striegel. “He just had a really good day.”

Rochester tacked on two more insurance runs in the sixth inning with a Brian Cordell 2-run homer to left-center field. The Warriors scored 11 runs on 12 hits on the day, with Jalan Dickerson driving in 3 runs.

“We were really aggressive at the plate and that was nice to see,” said Striegel.

Rochester (3-1, 2-0 league) will host Castle Rock on Tuesday.
