TUMWATER — W.F. West’s seniors came up big and allowed the Bearcats to stay undefeated in league play with a 7-4 Evergreen 2A Conference victory over Tumwater here on Monday.

Caitlin Reynolds and Ali Graham both hit 2-run homers in important moments to help their team come back from a 3-0 deficit after three innings.

“We did not play well defensively, with four errors,” W.F. West coach Mike Keen said. “We had some careless mistakes and we’re going to have to work on those.”

Graham also pitched the entire game, giving up eight hits buts not allowing a run after the fourth inning. W.F. West got 2 runs in the fourth inning, and Reynolds hit her 2-run shot during a 3-run rally in the fifth inning. Graham hit her 2-run dinger in the seventh to give the Bearcats a few insurance runs.

“We were hitting the ball in the game; we just hit it right at people,” Keen said. “The second time around the lineup we started putting it in play and Caitlin’s home run gave us the lead and got us excited. Our senior pitcher and catcher stepped up when we needed them too.”

W.F. West (11-2, 4-0 league) will play at Black Hills today.
