2A Bowling: W.F. West Tops Rochester in Opener

W.F. West was able to defeat Rochester 2217-1418 in a non-league bowling match at Fairway Lanes in Chehalis on Thursday.

In the first game, W.F. West was led by Piper Chalmers with a 269. Brianna Powe had a 227 and Ellie Bunker rolled a 193. Cami Aldrich tallied a 183, Jessica Loflin had a 151 and Kelsey Stritmatter bowled a 132.

Rochester’s Zee Lowery totaled a 180 and Emily Holmes-Pickernell had a 137. Sarah Soderback bowled a 113, Kayla Hubert had a 98 and Bonnie Swaim Tribble rolled an 84.

In the second game, Bunker led the way for the Bearcats with a 200. Chalmers had a 191 and Stritmatter had a 190. Aldrich and Powe each bowled a 186 and Loflin rounded out W.F. West with a 164.



Soderback had the top score in the second game with a 127 and Lowery was close behind with a 126. Swaim-Tribble had a 119, Holmes-Pickernel tallied a 113 and Hubert rolled an 88.

W.F. West won both baker games, winning 144-130 in the first game and 190-104 in the second game.

"It was a great showing for our first match of the season. 2217 total pins is our new school record and I was really impressed with our team's performance tonight." Coach Don Bunker said.

W.F. West (1-0) is back in action on Thursday against North Thurston. Rochester (0-1) hosts Montesano in Chehalis on Wednesday in a non-league match.
