Want to see the Democrats who are running for Congress against Republican incumbent Jaime Herrera Beutler? Come to an open forum on Wednesday, March 14, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Lower Columbia College in Longview in the Health Science Building., Room 101. The four candidates vying for the Democrat slot in the November election are Dorothy Gasque, Peter Harrison, Carolyn Long and David McDevitt. Each candidate has a website and is campaigning in Cowlitz, Klickitat, Lewis, Pacific, Skamania and Wahkiakum counties. The primary election runs from July 20 to Aug. 7.
This event is sponsored by the Lower Columbia Indivisible Group. The format will feature predefined topics with a lottery system for audience members to ask questions. Seating in the auditorium is limited to 140; however, there will be overflow seating with live video of the forum.
