Zack Taylor Keck

Zack Taylor Keck, 89, passed away peacefully June 10, 2019, with family by his side. He was born in Oklahoma Dec. 9, 1929.

Zack went to work in the shipyards in California at age 15. He joined the United States Army and was stationed in Germany at the end of World War II. He returned during his stay and married the love of his life, Dixie Gladys Dials in North Carolina. After leaving the Army, he returned to Mossyrock, Wash., where he joined his wife. Zack was employed by Kosmos Timber.

Zack and Dixie had three children while living in Mossyrock, Gwen, Cynde and Tim. In 1957, the family moved to Northern California where Zack was employed by Simpson Timber Company as a CAT skinner. Zack and Dixie returned to Washington in 1977, where he finished his working career at the Centralia Coal Mine as a CAT operator.

Zack is now with his loved ones that have gone before him, his wife, Dixie; son, Tim; daughter, Gwen Tucker; and granddaughter, Nikole Putman.

He is survived by his daughter, Cynde Ulrich and son-in-law, Albert Ulrich; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Keck; grandchildren, Jayme Miller, Angie Tully, Tim Tucker, Jeff Cochran and Kathryn Sanon; great-grandchildren, Jordann Tully, Maddy Tully, Evelyn Tucker, Faith Tucker and Lucy Miller.

Zack was a great husband and father and will be missed greatly. He loved to fish and hunt.

A celebration of life will be held from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019 at the Creekside Event Center, 2923 Jackson Highway, Chehalis, WA 98532.
