Travis Paul Shive, 28, of Salkum, Wash. passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014. Travis was born to Dave and Cathy Shive on April 19, 1986 in Bellevue, Wash.

Travis grew up in Onalaska and attended Onalaska schools. He made many friends and played sports, which he enjoyed. He traveled to Alaska on a fishing boat in 2012, fishing and enjoyed the many beautiful views. He planned to go back to Alaska again for a trip with his girlfriend, Kori Weiler. Then he found his dream job working with his childhood best friend, Cody Weiler, as a timber faller for J&O Timber Falling Inc. When he wasn't working he spent his free time riding motorcycles, boating, snowmobiling, snowbording and 4 wheeling. Travis was an avid archery hunter and really enjoyed bow season since childhood, when he got his first bow. Travis could do anything he put his mind to. He was always trying new things and would never give up until he accomplished it. He was an adventurous, brave, forgiving and hilarious man who never took for granted the beauty of the world around him. Always the life of the party, he loved all the attention from friends and family. He had a big heart full of compassion and love for anyone he met. He didn't care where you were from,  what you did, or where you were going. He would always help anyone in need.

Travis is survived by his mother, Catherine Uptain-Shive; father, David Ray Shive; grandmother, Beverly Newton; brother, Adam Shive; sister, Amanda Shive-Stanton; the love of his life, Kori Weiler; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

There will be a memorial service in the celebration of his life on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Salkum Fire Hall, 2495 U.S. Highway 12, Salkum, WA 98582.

The family would like to thank everyone for all the donations for his memorial service.
