Richard Lawrence Nisbet of Chehalis, Wash., passed away Aug. 5, 2019, while visiting the Washington coast. He was born at home Aug. 21, 1961, in Clarmont, Calif., to James and Frieda Nisbet.

Richard attended schools in Chehalis and graduated from W.F. West High School in 1980. Cooking was his passion, so he started working for Country Cousins Restaurant as a cook. In his off time, he was able to enjoy fishing, hiking and seeing the beautiful sites throughout the park.

Richard moved to Anchorage and worked for the Captain Cook Restaurant a few years. Being close to family and friends was important to him, so he returned to the Chehalis area. Richard loved helping people. He prepared meals for and served the homeless people of Lewis County through Mobil Ministries, the Shelter and the Salvation Army.

Richard is survived by his mother, Frieda; sister, Nancy (Dan); brothers, Jeff (Marlene), Robert (Cora) and Frank (Tina); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
